Geek Alert: Facebook Open Compute Project

Brilliant.

Facebook announced its Open Compute Project this week which gives the whole wide world visibility into the inner workings of their new data center in Prineville, OR. This is brilliant on so many levels. Not being a technical person, I have no idea what they’re talking about, but I really enjoyed watching the video of the engineers pitching the thing. My favorite part? The woo woo music bed and the Ken Burnsy video production values. Have a look.
