when the ship comes in?

While most authors have a hard time selling ONE book in this publishing climate, Crain’s NY just reported that Dylan, that’s Dylan as in Bob, inked a 6-book deal with Simon & Schuster.

$ deets are not available, but Crain’s reports that his agent was hoping for an eight-figure auction deal. Maybe they got it and maybe they didn’t, but no other house stepped forward in the hoped-for bidding war largely, it’s speculated, because they feared a lawsuit, as S&S published Chronicles: Volume 1 in 2004, with an agreement for more. The current deal with Simon & Schuster includes two follow-ups to Chronicles and a collection of riffs from Dylan’s radio show on Sirius XM.

The times, they are a-changin’. Or not.

when the ship comes in?

Yeah, at least until we’re knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door.

Maybe you actually DO need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
