Winding down and revving up

Happy holidays from BridgePoint Creative! Today marks the “last official work day” of 2010 for BPC, though we will respond to emergencies and dire needs, as one or the other of us will be on the grid throughout.

In deference to the annual wind-down, we are now on holiday blogging/social media posting schedule—which will be spotty at best.  And, we imagine that our readers, clients and friends will be similarly occupied with home-and-hearth activities, as it should be!

Meanwhile, I thought I’d offer a few yearnings for the New Year—at least from my desk (Laura may have her own—but we do tend to amplify and dovetail each other, which is what terrific partners do).

First, on the e-book scene. I’d love to witness the evolution of a sustainable business model for e-lit.  One that takes into consideration fair payment to writers, artists and publishers, but saves trees, fossil fuels and landfills. There are exciting things happening in this sector, and BPC plans on being a player in pioneering e-lit developments.

Second: we will continue to advocate for nonprofits that meet the needs of children.  Much of our nonprofit work has focused on the world’s next generation, and we’re proud to continue that tradition into 2011.

Third.  Since we’ve devoted a good part of this past year friending, following and liking, both within our business and in behalf of clients, we’re eager to scale our social media know-how to meet the needs of medium-sized businesses, nonprofits, and artists in a way that is sensible, profitable and balanced.  This is a fabulous time for businesses to really understand and get to know their customer base, and with planning, organization and goal-setting, a considered approach to social media is the way to go in 2011.

So, without further adieu, we bade you good tidings, love and health during the holidays and beyond.

Winding down and revving up
